Whether it be a poster, invitation, magazine or artist's book, this course will guide you through the pitfalls of desktop publishing. During this one day workshop, students will familarise themselves with Adobe's page layout and publishing application; to create professional documents for prepress, digital printing or PDF. Learn how InDesign supports text and graphic formats, links native Photoshop, Illustrator, PDF files and works with Font files. You will cover designing layouts, master pages, layers, colour profile support, style management, library retrieval, preview modes, embedded metadata and precise navigation. To conclude, the course will focus on the printing interface, colour separations and overprint preview, multiple export formats, preflight and packaging. Students can discuss any specific areas of interest they may have in advance via email. Places are limited to seven, with each student allocated a work station.
